| In August of 1886, the Postmaster General approved an application that permitted the Gandy Post Office to be moved. Although it was not mentioned in the application, the new location was also the site location for a new town named Sherman Center. The Gandy Post Office, without changing its name, moved to the town of Sherman Center. | ||||

| Early in December of 1887, the Postmaster General again approved a request permitting the Gandy Post Office to be moved, this time to the new town of Goodland, stipulating that the name of the Post Office was not to be changed until January 1, 1888 in order to begin with the quarter. | ||||
